Front entrance walkway and lighting

The old walk was too narrow to arrive on properly. This one widens as it reaches the door, curves out to meet the drive, and is laid in a tumbled paver that suits the stone on the house.

Beds were cut along the front of the house and through the island, planted with evergreens and low shrubs, and mulched. Lantern-style fixtures run the length of the walk on a low-voltage circuit, so the path is lit to the door and the planting is lit from within rather than floodlit from above.
